In the age of smartphones and slick digital cameras, it appears as though every single moment of our lives are recorded.
However, photography is a creative art and passionate photographers will recognize an exceptional and outstanding photo when they see one – the beauty that engages and holds the viewer captivated. The response is never indifference but creative engagement, which like all great works of art invites viewers to infer their own meaning.
I began to learn this creative art, nearly 40 years (1973 – four and a half decade) ago, from my father who was an avid professional photographer. We began with a Voigtländer superb camera. Over the years, the technology developed, working with Nikon and Minolta film format and now with Canon DSLR.
Through my lens, I have captured landscapes, nature, people and their culture. It is life in many forms, frozen in time. My favourites are portraits as faces tell life stories. Much of my work has been in Asia and in recent years in Oceania. My work has been published in LIFE and NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC.
It has also been exhibited in the panels of National Museum of Natural Histories.
Like all creative work that is meant to be enjoyed, this website is dedicated to all lovers of photography that I have taken over the years and the ones that I continue to take.
